The Matakana Coast region is approximately 60km north of Auckland City.
To arrive here you drive along State Highway One. This
scenic drive takes approximately 50 minutes from central Auckland.
Local operator Matakabs operates an airport shuttle service to and from
Auckland International Airport.
Intercity Coachlines operates a regular bus service to Warkworth, which
leaves from the Sky City Coach Terminal in central Auckland. To visit
places outside Warkworth, you will need to bring your own transport, rent a car, hire a
taxi, or join a tour.

Saturday Local Tour
Avoid parking issues in Matakana on Saturday mornings. A $2 shuttle bus circuit between The Bach surf shop in Matakana, Omaha Bay Vineyard, Morris & James Pottery, and Matakana Country Park. Park and ride available at Matakana Country Park.
The first bus will leave the Country Park at 8.45am and the last bus returns at 2pm. |
